From Confusion to Creation - A Personal Journey
Kim.E discusses the challenges of creating an authentic online presence amidst overwhelming advice from others. She reflects on the evolution of web design, which is now significantly influenced by AI. Kim.E advocates for embracing personal creativity and growth derived from genuine failures, which we are deprived of experiencing when we rely solely on AI for content creation. She emphasises the importance of our personal, creative touch, and our willingness to surrender to states of vulnerability, which allow us to tap into our unique ingenuity.
Journey of Personal Growth - Embracing Authenticity
I wanted to share my opinions and my perspectives with the world and knew that I needed an online platform. I had no clue where to begin. So I searched Google and found a multitude of so-called experts with great advice telling me what to do and what not to do.
Images should be professional, high quality, align with your branding concept, which means you actually need a concept. The statements need to be bold and clear, not confusing, but not generic either. Use a cohesive colour palette that isn't too bright, too light, too dark, with colours that don't clash. The fonts should be simple, legible, and should vary, but not too much. Find the balance between over-designing and under-designing. Consider the visual hierarchy so that users are not confused and are guided to the important information in the content. Shit!
Now in 2024, we have AI, which can design a website for you in minutes, which is great, except it does not have my fingerprint, my palm print, or my footprint on it. Nor does it have my authentic creative touch.
I am now at a pivotal moment in my life where I intend to do me, and just do me authentically. That might seem rather arrogant, especially if you have never truly done you. In other words, you have never created something so close to your heart that exposes intimate aspects and opinions unknown to the public that subsequently leave you in a state of extreme vulnerability, which is something AI just cannot do for you.
Yes, AI will create the generic text and the standard well-written blogs that will make the public happy and also save you time and effort. Okay, but because you once again chose the fail-safe option, you will never tap into your true potential and creativity, nor will you ever truly experience personal failures, which in my opinion, are stepping stones. Because without failure, we cannot achieve personal growth, nor discover our authentic creativity, our resilience, our determination, and our patience.
