High on `Hopium´ - The Deception of Consistent Harmony
Kim.E discusses the concept of the 'Soap Bubble Syndrome’, where individuals remain passive in their comfort zones and avoid challenges by maintaining a superficial sense of harmony which deflects from their personal reality. Such a giddy state is addictive and thrives on hope, which Kim.E refers to as ‘hopium'. She emphasises that genuine harmony cannot exist without acknowledging disharmony, and that relying on hope alone is an inactive approach that detracts from facing life's realities.
"Most people remain passive observers inside their comfortable soap bubbles, where they bide their time by getting high on hopium."

Popping the Soap Bubble - The Illusion of Harmony and Hope
The strive for emotional, materialistic and financial comfort by adopting pre-conceived ideals, avoiding adversity, day-to-day challenges or anything out of alignment with our beliefs, creates the soap bubble effect most hope will never pop. It does and it will.
"Soap Bubble Syndrome", as I like to call it, is something I know very well. I am someone who wishes to be authentic and honest by revealing what I really think about people and things, which will obviously annoy people who struggle to embrace what they do not wish to hear. Others will be repelled by anything out of alignment with their own strong beliefs. Regardless of my urge to speak my truth, I also have the great urge for harmony, which meant that for many years, I chose to only see the good in people and everything surrounding me just to keep the peace and feel that addictive sense of harmony, even if I was the destroyer of that peace through expressing my honesty.
The strive for pure harmony is blinding and deceiving. We keep blowing love, light and beauty into our soap bubbles and fail to see the reality of our life where harmony can only exist with disharmony, because both are one and the same. We get high on that feeling of harmony, and become addicted to experiencing that sensation again and again. Hope is what I would consider to be a very inactive verb without any influence or traction, which relies solely on the integrity and actions of someone else. Our hope becomes our "hopium", because it is only with hope, that we continue to nurture our soap bubbles and deflect from the reality of our life.
