Weaponised Addiction and Psychological Warfare

Kim.E explores the pervasive issue of addiction, suggesting that modern lifestyles and psychological manipulation play significant roles in drug and alcohol dependency, rather than just poor parenting. Historical examples are provided, detailing how substances like opium and amphetamines have been used for socio-political control and during wars, such as the Opium Wars and World War II.

Kim.E also discusses the CIA's controversial involvement in drug trafficking during various conflicts and touches upon the current opioid crisis in the United States. Emphasis is placed on how addiction is intentionally manufactured for profit and control, and how societal behaviours and government actions contribute to this ongoing issue. Kim.E concludes by discussing the psychological impact of normalised addictive behaviours and the importance of self-awareness and emotional connection in combating addiction.

The Role of Addiction in Global Power Dynamics

Unless you are a victim yourself, every parent probably breathes a sigh of relief when their offspring finally reaches an age where alcohol or drug abuse is no longer a problem. If it were never a problem, then they can most certainly count themselves as very lucky. Lucky because addiction has very little to do with good or bad parenting, and a lot more to do with the modern way of life and the psychological warfare that comes with it.

I believe that drugs and strong spirited alcohol were intentionally created to capitalise on the demise and ill-health of people, because it is the suffering and disease of people that enable the control of them. Massive industries of the world today profit from ill-health, disease, distraction through entertainment, consumerism, and addiction, and most of these industries are found in the “West”. I hope that we are able to one day understand the European evil that has reigned over the world for centuries both covertly and overtly, with the USA being the colonial extension thereof. This is the same evil that ruled over Europe with the Roman Empire, and silently, but powerfully rules in the background of the world today.

Many of us know of the evils of colonialism, which ravaged the world for centuries. Many may be less aware of the use of drugs as a weapon of war, which was, and still is, used to destabilise economies, finance military conflicts, and boost the morale of soldiers traumatised by the horrors of war.

The Opium Wars, which took place from 1839 to 1860 between Britain and China, is the most famous example of drugs being used as a weapon of war. The British Empire used the opium trade as a way to balance its trade deficit with China. Britain imported large amounts of tea, silk, and porcelain from China but had little to offer in return. Opium, cultivated in British-controlled India, became a solution. The British flooded the Chinese market with opium, leading to widespread addiction and social decay.

The Qing Dynasty tried to suppress the opium trade, which led to a series of conflicts. China’s attempts to ban and confiscate opium shipments sparked the First Opium War, resulting in Chinese defeat and the signing of the Treaty of Nanking, which ceded Hong Kong to Britain and opened Chinese ports to British merchants, thereby effectively legalising the opium trade and deepening the opium addiction crisis. By flooding China with opium, Britain undermined Chinese society, causing widespread addiction that weakened the workforce, drained silver reserves, and contributed to the internal instability of the Qing Dynasty. This eventually led to the Second Opium War and further imperial control over China. And we wonder why China is not a fan of the “West”.

During World War II, various militaries used stimulants to enhance the performance of soldiers. Amphetamines, particularly Benzedrine (an early form of what we now call "speed"), were used by both Axis and Allied forces to keep soldiers awake, reduce fatigue, and increase aggression. The Nazi Wehrmacht used the drug Pervitin, an early form of methamphetamine, to keep soldiers alert during the Blitzkrieg campaigns. It gave soldiers the stamina to continue fighting and marching for long periods without rest, and ultimately created a more aggressive and tireless fighting force. The Allied forces, especially American and British pilots and troops, also used amphetamines to stay awake during long missions.

Alcohol was often used by commanders to boost morale or dull soldiers' fears before battle. The Soviet Union, for example, issued vodka rations to its soldiers, believing it would improve morale and give them the courage needed to face extreme conditions on the Eastern Front. Alcohol was also weaponised in Nazi concentration camps, where guards were often provided with alcohol to dull their moral inhibitions, leading to more brutal behaviour toward prisoners. Interesting how drugs and alcohol were decisively used to dehumanise humans and create war machines out of them.

During the Cold War, the CIA conducted extensive research into the use of drugs for mind control, interrogation, and psychological warfare. The most infamous of these experiments was Project MK-Ultra, which sought to investigate the use of LSD and other drugs to manipulate the human mind. The project was intended to find ways to control enemy agents or soldiers, break prisoners during interrogations, and explore whether drugs could be used to brainwash or condition individuals into acting against their will. The CIA’s use of drugs as a tool of psychological warfare reflected Cold War anxieties about espionage and control.

Although we are made to believe that MK-Ultra’s experiments on humans did not lead to any successful mind-control techniques, such experiments resulted in significant ethical violations and the abuse of unwitting participants. I personally do not believe that such experimentation and abuse has ceased to exist, the perpetrators have just become better at concealing their actions, covering their tracks, and maintaining secrecy.

During the Vietnam War, heroin became widespread among U.S. soldiers stationed in Vietnam. Many soldiers turned to heroin to cope with the stresses of war, the poor conditions, and the psychological trauma of combat. Estimates suggest that up to 15% of U.S. soldiers in Vietnam were addicted to heroin by the end of the war. There is speculation that the North Vietnamese forces or their allies may have facilitated or tolerated the heroin trade as a way to weaken U.S. forces. Although there is no direct evidence of a coordinated strategy by the North Vietnamese government, the availability of heroin in Vietnam was seen as a way to sap the morale and effectiveness of U.S. soldiers. Heroin addiction followed many veterans back to the United States, and contributed to the broader drug epidemic of the 1970s, which led to significant social and public health challenges.

It is important to mention the CIA´s involvement in covert drug trafficking operations. My personal opinion is that anti-communism then and anti-terrorism today are the excuses used by the CIA to traffic drugs and humans to fund their covert military and intelligence operations worldwide, which include training and arming terrorist groups to destabilise countries from within their national borders. Because American tax dollars aren't used for funding, the CIA avoids public scrutiny and any pertinent questioning from prying politicians, Congress, or the Senate, who are mostly unaware of their dirty deeds.

The CIA ran covert operations in Laos through its secret paramilitary force known as Air America to fight the spread of communism. To support the anti-communist Hmong rebels led by General Vang Pao, the CIA allegedly turned a blind eye to their involvement in opium production and trafficking. Air America, the CIA’s airline, was allegedly used to transport opium from remote areas in Laos, where it was produced, to regions where it could be processed and sold.

While the CIA has denied direct involvement in drug trafficking, critics argue that the agency allowed the trade to continue as a means of funding its operations and supporting its anti-communist allies. The Golden Triangle became one of the world’s largest producers of opium during the Vietnam War, and the trade helped finance anti-communist forces in the region. The CIA’s alleged role in supporting drug-trafficking groups for geopolitical purposes remains one of the most controversial aspects of its operations in Southeast Asia

In the 1980s, various militant groups around the world began using drug trafficking as a way to fund their activities in what is now called narco-terrorism. The most famous example of this is the FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia), a Marxist guerrilla group in Colombia that became heavily involved in the cocaine trade to finance its insurgency against the Colombian government.

During the Nicaraguan Contra War, the Reagan administration was accused of turning a blind eye to drug smuggling by the Contras, a group fighting the left-wing Sandinista government. Of course, the Contras were aligned with U.S. Cold War interests.

Drug trafficking networks tied to insurgent groups often destabilise entire regions by fuelling violence, corruption, and lawlessness, and create complex security challenges for governments. The relationship between drug cartels and militant groups in places like Afghanistan, Colombia, and Mexico has blurred the lines between criminal and political violence.

Once again, it is important to add the alleged CIA involvement in these areas. One of the most infamous instances of the CIA’s alleged involvement in the drug trade occurred during the Iran-Contra Affair in the 1980s. This scandal involved the illegal sale of arms to Iran (despite an embargo) to fund the Contras, an anti-communist rebel group in Nicaragua fighting against the leftist Sandinista government. To fund their operations, many Contras were involved in smuggling cocaine into the United States, which contributed to the crack cocaine epidemic in major American cities during the 1980s.

In 1996, investigative journalist Gary Webb published a series of articles titled Dark Alliance in the San Jose Mercury News, and alleged that the CIA allowed the Contras to smuggle large quantities of cocaine into the U.S., which was then sold to drug dealers in Los Angeles. This cocaine was processed into crack and sold in poor urban neighbourhoods, disproportionately affecting African American communities. Interesting that in 2004, Gary Webb committed suicide by shooting himself twice in the head. Two shots? How is that even possible? “Kill the Messenger” is a movie based on his story.

Afghanistan has long been a leading producer of opium, and the drug trade has played a critical role in financing various armed groups, including the Taliban. During the U.S. invasion and subsequent war in Afghanistan, opium production surged, and the drug trade became a key source of income for the Taliban insurgency. The U.S. and its allies tried various strategies to curb opium production, including crop eradication and alternative development programs. However, these efforts largely failed, as opium production was tied to the livelihoods of many Afghan farmers and the proceeds from the drug trade helped fund the insurgency. The Taliban's use of the opium trade to finance their operations is an example of how drugs can be weaponised to sustain long-term insurgencies and undermine the stability of governments.

Of course, the CIA was involved here, too. During the 1980s, the CIA played a central role in arming and supporting the Mujahideen fighters in Afghanistan, who were fighting against the Soviet invasion as part of a broader U.S. strategy to counter Soviet influence in Central Asia. Some factions of the Mujahideen were heavily involved in the opium trade, and used the proceeds to fund their fight against the Soviets. The CIA’s primary goal was to support anti-Soviet forces. There are allegations that the agency turned a blind eye to the Mujahideen's involvement in drug trafficking.

Reports suggest that opium and heroin produced in Afghanistan were trafficked into Europe and the United States, and helped fund the Mujahideen's war efforts. Much like the Contras in Central America, the Mujahideen’s involvement in drug trafficking was seen as secondary to their role as a U.S. ally against communism. What is also quite interesting is that Osama Bin Laden, the key figure of Al-Qaeda, was a Mujahideen fighter trained by the CIA. Makes you wonder why we blindly trust our governments and their high-level puppets, who vomit up scripted narratives that talk of the moral fight against terrorism and drug trade, when they are actually the ones supporting it.

ISIS and other militant groups in the Middle East have been linked to the production and distribution of Captagon, an amphetamine-like drug used by fighters to enhance their endurance in combat. Captagon has also been trafficked to fund ISIS's operations.

Mexican drug cartels, while primarily motivated by profit, have blurred the lines between organised crime and insurgency, and have used violence, corruption, and intimidation to challenge the authority of the state, and effectively turned drugs into tools of social destabilisation. There have been long-standing rumours and allegations that the CIA has collaborated with Mexican drug cartels or facilitated their activities to achieve certain political objectives. During the height of the Colombian drug wars in the 1980s and 1990s, the U.S. government waged a major campaign against the powerful Medellín and Cali cartels. While the CIA was primarily focused on combating these cartels, there have been allegations that in certain cases, the CIA worked with individuals or groups involved in the drug trade if it served broader U.S. interests in the region.

One of the most famous examples of U.S. complicity in drug trafficking is the case of Manuel Noriega, the military leader of Panama and a former CIA asset. Noriega was deeply involved in the cocaine trade, and collaborated with Colombian cartels to facilitate the movement of drugs through Panama. Despite his drug dealings, Noriega had close ties to the CIA and provided intelligence and support for U.S. operations in Central America. In 1989, when Noriega’s actions became indefensible, the U.S. invaded Panama with Operation Just Cause - don't you just love the hypocritical names Americans love to give their operations - and captured Noriega, who was later convicted of drug trafficking in the United States. This highlights the CIA’s willingness to work with individuals involved in drug trafficking for as long as their needs or U.S. strategic interests are served, only to later turn against them once they become liabilities and their usefulness is exhausted.

It is quite obvious that alcohol and drugs, be it illegal drugs or legally prescribed drugs, have been created purely for the profit gained, maintained, and guaranteed through their addictive nature. Huge profits are then made on the diseases and physical and mental ailments their consumption cause. This subsequently results in the destabilisation essential for economical, political, and psychological control of the masses, which seems to be the ultimate goal for today's Western Governance.

An estimated 46.3 million Americans use illicit drugs, and 20.4 million are addicted to alcohol. So tragic, especially considering that the American government and its Western allies are complicit in the drug and alcohol addiction of their citizens through the availability and accessibility of such products. The incompetence of our leaders is obvious when considering their inability to stop drugs being trafficked to and through their nations, and their willingness to allow alcohol, cigarettes and prescribed drugs to be sold without too much critical thought, let alone thorough investigation, while the mega-corporations producing such products earn massive profits and benefit from extensive tax reductions.

We are all victims of a myriad of addictions that have been intentionally created through the extremely powerful Psychological Warfare that has plagued humanity and ravaged our world for centuries. There is one addiction we all share, the Internet. In the 1960s, the Internet was launched by the U.S. Department of Defence. Military researchers at the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA), later renamed Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), which is part of the U.S. military, led the development of the Internet. After its commercial launch in the 1970s, agencies like the NSA, CIA, and FBI later became involved in cybersecurity, mass surveillance, and intelligence gathering on a global scale.

With the Internet's easy access to knowledge, entertainment, and global connection for anyone with a device, the wrath and pandemonium of filtered information was unleashed upon the world. Not only that, a common social addiction was created whereby users practiced superficiality and emotional manipulation to garner likes and followers.

Healthy global communication and human exchange amongst ordinary individuals is the biggest threat to Western Governance, which is why platforms like TikTok, the hopeful winners of free speech, had the American government intervene yet again and use excuses like China, the feared illusional enemy, to censor and ban TikTok for a day in January 2025. The real problem wasn't China, but rather TikTok users' outrage after extensive coverage broadcast by Palestinians, the true victims of the Israeli occupation, revealed the brutal reality of the Gaza Genocide. The TikTok ban led to hundreds and thousands of TikTok refugees flooding RedNote, the Chinese social app. Now that is what I call an extremely powerful, gentle revolution with a "Fuck you, Mate!" slogan. The world needs many more such revolutions.

In a bold move, Elon Musk purchased Twitter for $44 billion USD in October 2022 and rebranded it X. Since then, the Twitter Files have revealed the extensive involvement of government in censorship and shadow banning of voices on social media that spoke out against the preferred narrative. More importantly, X has become THE platform for free speech with a mind-blowing amount of information being revealed daily. Grok, X´s AI, provides immediate, succinct answers to any questions asked. Most people don´t understand the importance of X in the fight for free speech and against Information Warfare. Most people remain unaware that Information Warfare and censorship is a real thing.

Why do I use the word warfare? The intention has always been to capture as many minds as possible through flooding information channels with scripted narratives that are intravenously consumed by the oblivious public. The addicts of such information desperately cling to their rigid belief systems, ideologies and identities, and go to extreme measures to justify and defend their mental addictions with aggressive, antagonistic reactions often immersed in victimisation. Such addictive, mental behaviours have caused huge rifts in society, especially in the USA.

Yet another successful tactic used by governing bodies to ensure the continuity of social rifts is to immediately discredit information and create cognitive dissonance, a powerful side-effect of Information Warfare. Subliminal messaging is constantly used to influence all decisions, which subsequently affect health and livelihoods. Mainstream and social media, corrupted science, as well as advertising and publication platforms, are some of the tools used to carry out the Psychological Warfare that creates and nurtures our addictive behaviours.

Every addiction we have, and we all have at least one, be it chocolate, Netflix, scrolling social media, gambling, video games, drugs, sex or alcohol, are psychological in nature and the very personal battlefield we all struggle with daily. Considering that we are all addicts on some level, we should practice extreme gratitude that a Netflix or social media addiction wastes our time and may negatively influence our beliefs and choices, but is a far reach from the immense physical, mental, and emotional suffering experienced by addicts with substance abuse. We should all have a lot more empathy and understanding for their dilemma, and work towards changing the way addicts are dealt with in society.

As a role model to someone, each and every single one of us is also responsible for the addictive behaviours of others through the social contribution we give or don't give, through the limited or expansive knowledge we have, and through the person we are to those we interact with. If each of us became more aware of the psychological impact our world has on us, and questioned who we are, how we show up, what we do each day, how we treat people, what we think, how we react, or how we feel, we would start becoming the change we condemn in others.

Most adults are quick to judge the youth of today, but seldom consider that the youth of today learnt such behaviours from those around them. I remember the numerous conversations about the drunken youth around the Sunday-lunch table many years ago. Every adult passing strong judgement had their 2nd or 3rd glass of red wine or beer in their hand. At some point, I pointed out that they were drinking lots of wine and beer in front of the future "youth of today". The rebuttal I received was that the discussion was about excessive teenagers, and not adults. My reply was that they were still a bad role model for my nieces and nephews seated around the table, who were observing the behaviour they would mimic when older. I felt that their judgement of the youth was unjustified when their normal behaviour at any social gathering was to drink a lot of alcohol. The room turned silent, the subject was promptly changed, and they all continued drinking.

What is your social contribution to juvenile delinquency and addiction? How do you or your society negatively impact the youth on a mental, physical, and emotional level? The decisions you make, the judgement you give, the habits you have, as well as all your actions, re-actions and inactions affect everyone around you. If you want to understand the physical, mental and emotional well-being of the society you live in, take a good look at your youth, especially in the poorest neighbourhoods.

Sadly, most of us are emotionally disconnected and uninformed, and go about our day-to-day life as if nothing can or should change. We cling to the illusion that we will remain healthy, comfortable and live forever. We seldom, if ever, consider the consequences of our behaviour, not only concerning our well-being, but the impact our behaviours have on others. All the addictions that plague our world are man-made and designed to impact the masses negatively. If the masses became aware of the cruel reality of their world, they would be empowered to make changes that would diminish the power of Psychological Warfare. If the masses chose to connect to themselves emotionally, they would be able to recognise, and thereby let go of the dehumanisation, discrimination, racism, superiority, and fear that have moulded our psyches through successful and intentional Psychological Warfare.

Allow me to take you on a journey of addiction, and provide you with some “factual” data about addictive substances. Please bear in mind that the information you will be shown was found on the Internet, and shall serve as an impulse for you to do further research. Let's take a look at the drug addiction statistics in the European Union.

We cannot talk about drug addiction without talking about the opioid epidemic. Opioids are a class of drugs that include the illicit drug heroin, as well as the licit prescription pain relievers oxycodone, hydrocodone, codeine, morphine and fentanyl - all highly addictive, of course. Over 16 million people worldwide have an Opioid Use Disorder with over 2.1 million of them in the USA. In 2021, there were an estimated 61.2 million opioid users worldwide.

The saddest part is that Opioids are not over-the-counter drugs and can only be prescribed by a certified medical doctor. Yes, the beloved, trusted medical doctors, who through negligence, ignorance or greed, have caused a massive, devastating addiction that is targeted at the middle-class who can afford healthcare. The worst of all is that our beloved “Medical Healers” are the ignorant nurturers of disease and addiction.

Let's take a look at some of the companies involved in the opioid crises. All of these companies have been fined and have made large settlements, yet there is no evidence that any of these companies have stopped the production or distribution of opioids. Although their opioid production might be reduced or more regulated due to legal settlements, these companies continue with business as usual and earn billions in annual revenue.

Purdue Pharma introduced OxyContin in 1995, almost 30 years ago. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2019 after facing thousands of lawsuits, but not before the Sackler family moved about $11 billion of profits into personal accounts. On the 27th June 2024, the USA Supreme Court said that the Sackler family cannot by shielded from liability for civil claims, and that the settlement talks with the Sacklers would have to begin again.

Yes, the Pharma Industry is designed to make profits through creating dis-ease and providing medical assistance for the diseases they actually caused, but what excuse do our beloved doctors have? Even though there are more than 187 opioid deaths per day in the USA, well-trusted doctors still prescribe the drugs. Why? Do doctors really have a patient's health in mind, or are they just glorified pharmaceutical sales representatives many claim them to be? The following information is not surprising to me, although it may surprise you.

It's a well-documented fact that adverse prescription drug effects and other medical errors are the third leading cause of death in America. Adverse drug events harm 2.7 million hospitalised patients in the U.S. annually, with over 106.000 deaths, and that's just for hospitalised patients. Another 350.00 adverse drug events occur in U.S. nursing homes each year, and believe it or not, by most estimates, only 1-10% of adverse events are ever reported. Have you ever wondered what the reality is in your own country?

In my opinion, medication and a local doctor's or general practitioner's advice do not always correlate with being a healthy, dis-ease free human being nowadays. I have yet to meet a doctor who gives life-changing advice instead of immediately prescribing drugs or medication. Since 2020, it has become blatantly obvious that doctors cause more harm than they do good. Before you consume any prescribed drugs or give them to your children, do your research and take the listed side-effects very seriously, even if your doctors diminish the importance or relevance with a remark that they are just the worst-case scenarios, and not the norm.

With the birth of my daughter in 2000 and the regular, compulsory visits to my local practitioner, I was astounded that the remedy for every ailment she had was a pharmaceutical drug. I began to research everything my dear doctor prescribed. Many of my questions he couldn’t answer. I often knew more about the specifics of a drug than he did, which is why I never trusted his advice, nor that of any doctor from then onwards. Both my children only received antibiotics once in their whole life-time, and in both cases, the symptoms were acute. I found alternative, healthy ways to help them when sick, and made lifestyle changes to prevent them from getting ill too often, which also meant that I seldom, if ever, sought the professional opinion of our beloved doctor.

The integrity and transparency of the massive health organisations responsible for the approval, regulation, safety, efficacy, and quality of the prescribed drugs available on the market today should also be questioned. When one considers the data you have been shown, it's quite obvious that they're definitely not doing a very good job, and are complicit in the deaths and adverse reactions caused by their approved drugs, yet such organisations continue with business as usual without any consequences.  Why that, I wonder?

Cannabis has been a hot topic of huge discussion for decades. Let's take a look at some stats. There are 22.2 million cannabis users in the EU between 15-64 years. Over 78.5 Million people have tried cannabis. There are 200 Million cannabis users worldwide between 15-64 years.

Of course, cannabis has amazing medical benefits that alleviate the suffering caused by physical ailments, disease, and mental disorders like PTSD, yet I am cautious of its use, not only because of its addictive nature, but also because of its inactive, illusional nature. Although users may be calm and relaxed, many fail to work through the emotional traumas that caused their anxiety and remain emotionally disconnected, not only from themselves, but also from the reality of their lives.

For many, cannabis is a diversion from, and an aversion to the emotional reality they should be experiencing. Instead of evolving from emotional, traumatic experiences, many remain in a perpetual loop of avoidance, which maintains a state of limbo in an illusion of suspended time. Now let's take a look at tobacco smoking.

Tobacco smoking was largely commercialised by the mid-1700s, and quickly became a cash crop for Western colonisers like the USA and the UK. The tobacco industry boomed when the first cigarette making machines were invented. Initially, cigarette rolling was done by hand, and a skilled cigarette roller could only produce 4 cigarettes in one minute. James A. Bonsack´s cigarette rolling machine produced 200 cigarettes per minute. Cigarettes became popular culture through aggressive marketing that was targeted at men and women through Hollywood movies and predominant advertisings.

Despite causing lung cancer and other diseases, hundreds of millions of people smoke cigarettes today. The saddest part of all is the global estimate that approximately 24 million 13-15 year olds smoke cigarettes. The mature, responsible grownups of the world have not been very good role models, not so?

Because of the massive anti-cigarette campaigns and the lawsuits against tobacco companies from 1980 to the 2000s, cigarette smoking was not as profitable as the decades before, but fear not, the tobacco industry always finds a way to make profits while it simultaneously sickens humanity.

Vaping is the new eCigarette trend, that has been marketed as the safe alternative to smoking tobacco cigarettes. Such bullshit! Vapers inhale vapour produced by an electronic cigarette (e-cigarette) or similar device. Sadly, this trend has targeted our youth, and is wildly popular amongst 18 to 24 years. An estimated 40 million people vape today. Even though there have been lawsuits against vaping companies, the global e-cigarette and vape market size is valued at USD 37.96 billion in 2025.

Even if one resorts to using the legal system, it's obviously extremely difficult to stop such companies from producing addictive products that are detrimental to human health. Despite many lawsuits, such companies pay massive fines and have large settlements, a slight annoyance considering their astronomical profits, but still continue to do business as usual because the politicians, the lawmakers, the judiciary, and the lobbyists all snuggle up in the same lucrative bed.

Yet, there is something that renders any mega-corporations powerless, namely the consumer who determines where to put their hard-earned cash. As consumers of such products, you are the enablers of the dirty deeds such greedy companies choose to practice. In my opinion, any corporation producing anything that inflicts the slightest harm on human beings, including processed foods and plastic products, should stop production immediately. Period. There is absolutely nothing complicated about that, except for the fact that masses of people earn money from the profit margins of such companies, which is why such companies, as well as their shareholders, should massively contribute towards the healthcare systems of the countries they sell their products in.

Ok, I have one more topic I would discuss, namely alcohol. Below is a list of the countries with the highest spirits and alcohol consumption per capita.

Although alcohol consumption is seldom considered to be an addiction, the addictive tendencies lie in the social behaviours of those who consume alcohol on a regular basis. Often, a daily ritual, which is accentuated with the believe that one has earned or deserves the glass of wine or bottle of beer, is what support such addictive behaviours. Almost always, alcohol is part of socialising, and has become the norm rather than the exception. Restaurants often earn more from alcohol consumption than they do from the food they offer. Bars ensure that alcohol is consumed by charging exorbitant prices for soft drinks or water. A drunk or inebriated person spends a lot more money than a sober person does.

Let’s take a look at the major alcohol beverage companies and what their estimated revenue or market cap is. For context, baiju is a Chinese distilled liquor that is one of the strongest (35% to 65%) and most consumed spirits in the world, and primarily made from sorghum, but other grains like wheat, barley, and rice can also be used. Kweichow Moutai is the Chinese baiju producer. Moutai is considered to be the “national liquor” of China and is celebrated for its complex production process involving multiple fermentations and distillations. A 750 ml bottle costs on average $650 USD.

The reality of our world and its psychosis is founded in behaviours that stem from all the decisions we have made, and although those decisions have been influenced by extremely powerful Psychological and Information Warfare, we are each individually and solely responsible for every decision we make, regardless of who or what else is to blame. We can be disgusted by the realities surrounding the creators of such products, and we can despise their greed-inspired actions. We can be appalled by the astronomical amounts they have earned on human addiction and demise, and the fact that shareholder profit is more important than the health and well-being of human beings. We can be disappointed and annoyed that our governments, trusted institutions, and legal system are incapable of making massive changes, leaving us tired and frustrated.

Yet, regardless of everything, we are the ones that hold the power and we are the ones who are meant to make the changes. We must start with ourselves first. It is the simple act of judgement and shifting the blame that robs us of the opportunity to recognise and work on our own behaviours. Just like addicts, we MUST first acknowledge that we are responsible for all the addictive behaviours, the exploitation, the manipulation, the ignorance, the inaction, the greed, and the suffering plaguing our world today, because in one way or another, we also practice the same behaviours and have the same traits that have created all the problems destroying the well-being of humanity.

What is your social contribution? What kind of role model are you really? Take a deeply profound look at yourself and answer such questions with brutal honesty. You may be surprised, perhaps even shocked at the answers you receive. Then choose to become a better human being every single day. Allow me to end this blog with a quote from Gandhi: Become the change you wish for in the world.

Be B.O.SS.Y. Live

Join the FREE live with 17-year expert on how to master emotional intelligence by moving towards and not away from disturbing factors and individuals in your day-to-day life. You don't need an expensive therapist, nor do you need the perfect strategies other people swear by that never work for you.

You just need to connect to your emotional Self, ask profound questions, and "listen to" the answers. What if I told you that ONLY YOU have the solutions to any problems you experience? Or that you are perfectly equipped with all the answers you need, just that no one ever taught you how to find them within.
